Best Cheap Hotels on Siargao Island: Which Area to Choose

Before we get to individual hotels and resorts, I’ll explain the distinct neighborhoods where tourists usually book cheap hotels on Siargao Island. There’s the area around General Luna and Cloud 9, where most people stay, Malinao, just west of General Luna, where you’ll find more quiet budget-friendly accommodations in Siargao, and then San Isidro an hour to the north, where you’ll find secluded, gorgeous beaches. Here’s a quick overview:

  • General Luna: If you want to be in the middle of the action and want the best value, you should choose a budget hotel in Siargao’s General Luna neighborhood. This is where you’ll find the restaurants, cafes, and nightlife that Siargao is famous for. It’s also where you’ll find Cloud 9! Amihan Bungalows is my favorite cheap hotel near Cloud 9.
  • Malinao: If you want to be close enough to the action while enjoying some peace, you should book a cheap hotel in Siargao’s Malinao neighborhood. It’s a 15-20 minute drive to Cloud 9 and puts you within reach of restaurants and nightlife while being comfortably away from the crowds. I recommend Secret Spot Siargao on the closer end.
  • San Isidro: If you’re looking for a peaceful beach getaway with access to unspoiled beaches, you should choose a cheap hotel in Siargao’s San Isidro area. It’s a little over an hour’s drive from Cloud 9 and makes for a secluded stay. I love Bamboo Surf Beach for its idyllic location on Pacifico Beach.

Bamboo Surf Beach is a laidback property in Pacifico, a little over an hour’s drive from Cloud 9. This is one of my favorite cheap hotels on Siargao Island, and I loved lounging in the hammocks with an ocean view. Guests have the option of triple rooms, double rooms, and cozy beach cottages. Each roof offers air conditioning and a private terrace.

Bamboo Surf Beach offers amenities like Starlink internet, an outdoor pool, a beachfront restaurant, and a bar and restaurant serving a daily breakfast. Prana Siargao Resort is a beautiful boho property just a 10-minute drive away from Cloud 9. Its location on the edge of General Luna town affords it convenient access to shops, restaurants, and cafes. This affordable Siargao hotel offers both bungalow rooms and one and two-bedroom houses. I love the aesthetic design of the two-bedroom house, it’s one of my favorite accommodations on the list!
