WHERE TO STAY IN CORON: BEST PLACES TO STAY
This Coron accommodation guide is divided into four distinct areas of Coron and it is categorized from the budget, luxury, and value for money in each district.
AREA: CORON TOWN PROPER
Coron town center, approximately 40 minutes away from Busuanga airport, is the most convenient jump-off point for diving and island hopping tours. From the airport, there is a shuttle for $3 to all hotels. Most travelers and divers stay in Coron Town proper as there are many accommodation options. Below are the best places to stay in Coron Town Proper for each different type of budget and purpose of visit.
THE FUNNY LION
The Funny Lion (Good Atmosphere): The Funny Lion is a boutique resort in Coron that I visited several years ago. Let’s just say that beer from the hot tub with one of the best sunset views in Coron is about as good as it gets. It’s ultra-modern and has a spa, pool, and immaculate rooms. The rooftop bar and dining is an awesome place to be after a long day of island-hopping in Coron.
This resort is perfect for couples and small families who want to spend their holiday in a quiet and serene place. The restaurants provide guests unique fine dining experience with fresh seafood and Asian fusion cuisine. You can enjoy their Cocktail Safari with The Funny Lion’s signature drinks at 5:00 P.M.
The Funny Lion is one of the best places to stay in Coron if you are looking for good vibes and a good atmosphere. I can put a personal guarantee on this place for an epic stay in Coron.
TWO SEASONS CORON BAYSIDE HOTEL
Two Seasons Coron Bayside Hotel (Value): Located by the bay in Coron Town, this upscale hotel features an infinity pool which makes for a picture-perfect sunset view (Possibly the best sunset hotel view in Coron). If you want comfort and luxury at the same time this place is for you. It has its own private dock so you just leave straight to the island-hopping tours from your hotel room!
Hospitality at its best. The staff treats all their guests like a royal. The hotel rooms are spacious and well-appointed with comfortable beds and lovely balconies. In my opinion, this is one of the best places to stay in Coron with a pool.
Outpost Hostel – Coron, like Outpost Beach Hostel (El Nido) is a fun and social hostel located on the edge of Coron town, away from the chaos and hustle bustle of downtown Coron. The hostel offers dormitories of various sizes and private rooms all equipped with air-conditioning units and fans. The hostel has a roof deck and infinity pool that looks over a beautiful view of Coron Bay and surrounding islands.
The hostel has its own restaurant that is very chef driven, offering Filipino fusion flare for affordable prices. The onsite bar rocks every night with fun themes, events, and games and is a great place to meet other travelers and guarantees a great time. The bar, however, closes by 11PM so getting a good night’s rest is not a problem. The hostel has its own tour desk and can arrange island hopping tours, scuba diving, and lots of other fun activities guests can enjoy while they are in Coron.
Bangles Homestay (Family Pick): Set in Coron Town Proper, close to the public market, Bangles Homestay provides rooms with air conditioning, a private bathroom, and free WiFi. The guest house offers a terrace. In the surroundings, there is a lagoon and lake.
The staff and the host can help you with tour bookings. It is highly recommended as it’s near to everything. Bangles Homestay is one of the best budget accommodations in Coron that is still very high quality.

Sunlight Eco Tourism Island Resort (Luxury): This luxury resort is located on Culion Island, a 30-minute boat ride from Coron town proper, a quiet and secluded spot for vacationers looking for a tropical ambiance.
The resort features an outdoor swimming pool overlooking the sea and a private beach area. It seriously looks straight out of the Maldives! Sunlight provides services to suit the needs of their guests from spa and sauna services for those who wish to have relaxation; lovely restaurants and bars for those who wish to chill and dine; a dive shop; fitness gym; a playground for kids; and even a library for those who want some privacy.
