Romblon might not be known for its cliff jumping spots but we spent three weeks in the Romblon Province and managed to send quite a few backflips and dives throughout the islands. Some of the jump spots below aren’t massive but there are a few really cool spots amongst the 13 listed.
CLIFF JUMPING SPOTS ON TABLAS ISLAND
Tablas tended to have a couple of the best ones along with the diving boards on Carabao. Sibuyan and Romblon weren’t hotspots for cliff jumping at all from what we encountered. Remember to check the water first and know your limits! These are my favorite 15 cliff-jumping spots in Romblon.
TINAGONG DAGAT CALATRAVA CLIFF JUMP
Tinagong Dagat is two lagoons hidden on a small strip of coastline in the north of Tablas Island. As the sun began to set, I headed around the cliff with a local kid and he showed me a spot to cliff jump. It was about 8 meters high and not very deep, but off I went. Nic managed to capture the epic sunset cliff jump moment from the drone and it’s a moment I’ll never forget from our Calatrava Island hopping and our time on Tablas, Romblon.

BLUE HOLE CLIFF JUMP
After snorkeling at Gorda’s Point, I told our guide I was going to climb up the rocks near Blue Hole and do a cliff Jump. It seemed about 12 meters but I’m not sure. He wasn’t sure either. But he knew I was experienced at cliff jumping. I managed to climb out of the water and scale my way up the cliff.
The guys in the boat watched on as I leaped off the cliff and seemingly jumped into the Blue Hole. Of course, I didn’t go down deep enough but it felt like I was jumping into the hole itself while I was on the way down. It was a great way to end an awesome day of adventuring on Tablas Island.

BINUCOT BEACH VIEWPOINT CLIFF JUMP
I found a spot that looked perfect for a little cliff jump. I decided to jump from down low as I wanted to check the height first. It was deep but better to be safe than sorry. I then swam back around the ocean side of the Binucot Beach viewpoint. I swam through epic slot caves and discovered some amazing little spots.
It’s definitely worth snorkeling out on the ocean side of the hill. This is definitely one of the sketchiest jumps I’ve ever done but it is possible.

LOOC BRIDGE WITH THE BOYS
In the town of Looc, there is a small cement bridge that the local kids jump from. We were passing by and stopped to hang out with the kids for a while and send a few backflips. We had an awesome time chilling with these kids at their local spot.
The water isn’t very deep and we had to jump in a pretty specific spot. Definitely not one of the safest jumps of my life but with a muddy bottom the risk wasn’t too high! We passed by the bridge on our way back from the Looc Marine Sanctuary.
MABLARAN FALLS
Mablaran Falls is more of a hangout spot than an epic waterfall. A small waterfall pans into a large pool. The main attraction at Mablaran waterfall on Tablas Island was the rope swing.
Kids took turns swinging on a vine and launching into the water. It wasn’t a man-made rope like most swings, it was actually a vine, which was super cool. We joined in with the kids as they showed us their four stacker rope swing tricks and enjoyed making fun of my Tagalog.

THE ABANDONED HOTEL ON TABLAS
As we were driving down the east coast of Tablas Island we spotted a random house/hotel on top of a rock. Kids were dripping wet and there was quite a commotion. We whipped around and went to investigate. It turns out they are building a hotel or renovating an old one as we were told. But for now, you can jump off the roof or out the windows into the crystal clear water.
The sand is actually shells and rock, which are very fine and make the water crystal clear with no murkiness. It is like a little European paradise in the middle of Tablas Island.

These next few spots were all on Romblon Island. Not too many cliff jumps on offer but enough to keep us going!
LIBTONG FALLS
There are several spots to jump into the pool at the bottom of the waterfall but it isn’t incredibly deep. Having said that, the boys jumped from over 10- meters on the top path, which was pretty crazy. When you are local and know the spots and also only weigh about 35kgs you can afford to jump into a shallow pool. I jumped from a bit lower and left the high ones to the kids at this spot.

MARAKAY MARAKAY CLIFF JUMP
I think I found heaven. Marakay Marakay cliff jump was an island purely dedicated to a diving board. Our boat pulled up right next to the island, where cement stairs are built into the island. Normally with cliff jumping in the Philippines, it is a battle to get back up the cliffs and to avoid cutting yourself on the sharp rocks.
At Marakay Marakay it can’t get any more convenient. From the boat, a pathway leads right up to the diving board. Jumping off, swimming to the stairs and climbing back up to the board was a circuit I completed multiple times. This was a spot I wasn’t expecting on our Romblon Island hopping tour but what an epic spot to enjoy all to ourselves for over an hour!

KIPOT RIVER
The magical part about the Kipot River is that it is a mini canyon to explore. You can swim down a narrow slot or walk over the top to where the river opens up again on the other side. It is possible to jump into the water as we did but it’s not super deep so be careful on that play!
Kipot River on Romblon Island is definitely one of the gems of the island and a great addition to an adventure day in the south. You could visit Libtong Falls and Agpanabat Turtle Sanctuary in the morning and then Kipot River followed by sunset at Lahung Rock formation in the evening!

Sibuyan had mostly waterfall cliff jumps but also had one of the highest and best jumps in all of Romblon Province: Cantingas River Cliff Jump
BUSAY FALLS
A small pool at the base of the falls was the perfect place to refresh after the short but hot journey in. I really enjoyed these falls. One huge stream of water poured down into the pool.
The trees surrounded us in what was almost a canyon, a long thin open stretch. It felt very enclosed and magical. We even managed to climb the sides of the pool for a few cliff jumps with the local kids.

DAGUBDOB FALLS
When we arrived we couldn’t believe how beautiful this multi-tiered waterfall system was. Striking emerald water cascaded down and down into the next pool. As we climbed up and up we were surprised that it just never seemed to end.
There were at least 6 pools you could swim in if not more. I, of course, found a few you could even jump into.

CANTINGAS RIVER CLIFF JUMP
Cantingas River is the source of 90% of the water for the island of Sibuyan. It is also the source of some pretty gnarly diving boards! This spot is incredibly popular for families on the weekend, where the adults and the kids come to play and hang out. The crystal clear water and the diving boards make it one of the most popular sites in Sibuyan.
A few people started to roll in and lots of families and kids were setting up for a day of fun by the river. The kids started jumping from the middle platform and then even from the top. I watched a few older guys jump from that high before I decided, I better jump as I’m probably never coming back!
Off I went to the big platform, hoping I would land in the right spot that was deep enough. Bombs away. I landed and didn’t even touch the floor, which was a relief.

LAMBINGAN FALLS
The falls are quite small but still very peaceful. It was a great place to hang out and chill for a while on the bamboo platform. There was a disappointing factor at Lambingan, which was the diversion pipes sticking straight out of the waterfall. I think these kinds of diversions should be done upstream if they are necessary for the local community.
There is a little cliff jump at the bottom falls, which is also a great spot to sit in the huts and have some lunch, as we did.

CLIFF JUMPING SPOTS ON CARABAO ISLAND
Carabao Island is a pretty small island but of the few ‘tourist attractions’ it does have, most of them are cliff jump sites along it’s jagged coastline.
KODING KODING CLIFF JUMP
Koding Koding on Carabao Island is one of those places you walk into and just get so excited you almost panic. Crystal clear, vibrant blue water lay in waiting for you from several diving platforms at this epic hangout spot.
There are several diving boards of only about 3 meters in height so it is a great spot for families, kids, and travelers alike. There are also rafts to hang out on in the water. Ladders make it easy to get in and out of the water but reef shoes are advised.

CATHEDRAL CAVE CLIFF JUMP
There are two areas to jump at Cathedral Cave. We first visited the site on the left. Here there are two diving boards, which are about 3 meters and 5 meters. A bamboo walkway winds across the roads leading you out to the ocean.
The water was insanely clear and blue, it was such an epic spot and we actually had it all to ourselves for most of the time.
Along the boardwalks, you can stop off to the sides and explore the caves. The water glows and small fish are swimming about. If you are game there are several small tunnels and caves within the caves to explore.
The other side is where the big caves are and also where you will find the big cliff jumps. You can take a guided tour inside the caves to see all the natural formations. They make you wear a helmet and it’s quite an interesting cave to check out.
We were there for the cliff jumps so I was stoked to have a diving board, which was roughly 8-10m high directly above the crystal clear water. I sent way too many backflips as we watched on as the local visitors built up the courage to jump.
Some of the local kids, however, were pros. They were jumping from the highest cliff, which had to be at least 20 meters. I decided to give it a crack and join them for a jump.
