Kudadoo Maldives Private Island
Kudadoo Private Island is an indulgent escape from reality. Based in the Lhaviyani Atoll, Kudadoo is a scenic 40-minute seaplane flight from the capital. And of all the ultra-luxe resorts in the Maldives, it’s the only truly all-inclusive option. Additionally, with only 15 overwater villas, guests can be assured an intimate space to dine, spa, and adventure to their newlywed hearts’ content. In essence, it’s a romantic adult’s-only Disneyland.
To begin with, guests have access to a 24-hour butler whose responsibilities specifically focus on organizing guest experiences. These entail personalized wellness treatments, custom meals, and excursions. Presently, featured excursions include luxury sailing, deep sea fishing, dolphin watching, and sand bar picnics. Soneva Jani
Soneva Jani is a gorgeous resort situated in the Noonu Atoll and reachable via a 30-minute seaplane from Male. You’ll probably recognize it from viral videos of Maldives waterslides. In fact, Soneva Jani is one of the most recognizable resorts in the world. After all, it’s home to some of the largest water villas ever built. And besides being large, the villas are also excessively dreamy.
For example, all villas feature glass floors to view the turquoise waters below. The iconic Soneva waterslides are found in plenty of room categories. In addition, master bedrooms feature retractable ceilings to sleep under the stars. As for resort amenities, there’s an observatory and floating cinema. Gili Lankanfushi
Gili Lankanfushi is located in one of the most beautiful lagoons in the Maldives, a short 20-minute speedboat ride from Male. Billed as the original overwater resort, it won Best Hotel in the World in 2015. In truth, it’s my all-time favorite honeymoon resort in the Maldives, let alone the world.
To begin with, each of its 45 rooms is an overwater villa, with several “Robinson Crusoe” residences reachable only via boat. You won’t want to leave your gorgeously appointed villa, but if you do, you’ll have plenty to do. Each guest receives a bicycle to make their way around the island. Activities include PADI diving, a sustainable coral initiative, surfing, and tennis with a pro. Of course, guests can also relax with sunrise yoga or ayurvedic treatments at the Meera Spa.
Above all, Gili has a “no shoes, no news” policy. As a result, guests surrender to island life. And what better way to spend your honeymoon? The only thing better than Gili’s barefoot luxury is its excellent level of service. For that reason, it’s my favorite Maldives honeymoon resort.

Moreover, couples can opt for a completely private stay and forgo the shared facilities. One can dine in-villa or on the sand. Likewise, guests can choose to embark on a private spa journey or book out the entire island. By all means, the choice is yours.

The Six Senses Laamu is a dreamy barefoot luxury escape for a Maldives honeymoon. An eco-conscious property on Olhuveli Island, it’s a 40-minute seaplane and short boat ride from Male. And while the rooms have a wonderful castaway charm, my favorite features are the cheekily placed glass floors in all the water villas.
The Six Senses is also one of the only resorts in the Maldives with good surf, as well as an in-house marine biology team. the on-site diving is great, as is the selection of spa treatments. There’s even a rumor about 48 ice cream flavors on property. The resort does have nearly 100 villas though, which can seem a bit much. But with such elegant villas to choose from, you may never want to leave your room. Which doesn’t sound too off for a honeymoon in the Maldives.
