THE WEEKLY #180: HONG KONG HERE WE GO

THE WEEKLY #180: HONG KONG HERE WE GO

It almost seemed like I had signed off on the year after leaving Siargao, but it was only December 7 when I flew out of the tropical paradise in the Philippines. With 23 days left in 2019, there were still a lot of adventures to be had and it was time for the final chapter of the year to unfold.

Hong Kong, the city of bright lights, epic skylines, shopping and fast-paced business. It might seem like a strange place for me to visit but there’s something I knew about Hong Kong that many overlook. It has a great hiking scene with so many great trails. The unique part about the Hong Kong trails is that they are often quite close to the metropolis and look down through the trees of the jungle into the urban sprawl below. There are only a few places in the world with such a big city so close to jungle hikes.

I had one business meeting in Hong Kong and off the back of that, I decided I would stay for 30 days in Hong Kong and make it a base for a month. My plan was to get out and hike the 20 best trails, enjoy the time in one location and also, of course, write a Hong Kong hiking guide to encourage more of you to leave the shopping bags behind and throw on your hiking boots the next time you come to Hong Kong.

And so it began. I spent the first few days buying a suit and getting the business meeting over and done with. It was just a part of my business structure of the blog and a meeting with a bank so I won’t bore you with any of those details. After those first couple of days, it was time to hike.

I’m going to leave a link to all of the hikes I did this week below so you can check them out and see all of the photos in each of them.
