THE WEEKLY #324: LAST WEEK IN THE TROPICS

THE WEEKLY #324: LAST WEEK IN THE TROPICS

With seven days left in the tropics, I wanted to make the most of the island vibes. I needed to soak it all in before heading out to the hot, merciless deserts and mountains of Pakistan. We kicked off the week with an island hopping trip out of Pamilacan Island.

The second adventure of the week was to Balicasag Island to swim with lots of beautiful sea turtles. We were not disappointed as we came across more than 20 turtles in just an hour of snorkeling.

We rounded out the week with a free diving session amongst the sardine balls at Napaling Reef. This spot reminded me of just how warm and clear the water is in the Philippines. I found myself underwater, enjoying the peace and trying to soak it all before I flew out the next day.

After one final (drunken) night out in Panglao, it was time for me to pack up and hit the airport. This Philippines trip has had a bit of everything and has been a great adventure overall. I boarded my flight to Manila to pick up my gear that I left there seven weeks ago. The next morning I began my transit to Pakistan.
