For the last three months, I’ve had an amazing time exploring the mountains, waterfalls, and beaches of Panama. I’ve been incredibly lucky to meet so many awesome locals along the way who have shown me how they adventure in Panama. The people of Panama have made my trip amazing and I want to give back by organizing a free event for the adventure community of Panama.
On the 23rd of September, I will be hosting a FREE Adventure Day, Presentation and Nature Clean-up in Valle de Anton. You are invited and everybody is welcome!
On Sunday, we will do two short hikes, have a short workshop and presentation about travel photography and we will all do a short nature clean-up of trash in the area to help our environment.
ADVENTURE DAY & WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
The schedule for the day will be as follows:
4:25 am: Meet at Bodhi Hostel
4:30 am: Depart Bodhi Hostel to begin India Dormida sunrise hike
6:15 am: Watch the sunrise together at the top of India Dormida hike
8 am: Return to Valle de Anton and have breakfast as you wish wherever you want
10 am: Workshop/Presentation at Aprovaca Conservation Center about travel photography, budget travel, blogging, and social media
10:30 am: Q & A
11:30 am Depart for the hike to Cerro La Silla
2:30 pm: Return to Anton Valle town center.
End of day

The event will be 100% FREE and is hosted by myself and a local travel guide who has become one of my good friends, Jerry Moreno (@jerryfit). If you need accommodation before or after the adventure day, Bodhi Hostel has 27 dorm beds and multiple private rooms. I have stayed here for three weeks now and it has become my Panama home! There are no age restrictions or requirements. The entire event is 100% free and you won’t need to pay for anything except for your meals, which you can pack from home or buy at the local shops in Valle de Anton. The hikes will be led by myself and several experienced guides from Panama so you are in safe hands. Both hikes are not dangerous and good for all ages.
WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?
- Closed sneakers or shoes for hiking
- Water bottles
- Snacks
- Sunscreen
- Money for your breakfast or pack it from home
- Camera
- Rain Jacket
- An old plastic bag or a reusable bag to collect trash
- Gloves to pick up trash if you prefer
