30 Awesome Photos Of Jodhpur “The Blue City”

Jodhpur is one of the most amazing cities in India for one peculiar reason. It’s a blue city! Over half of the houses in Jodhpur are painted blue, have a blue roof or blue ornate doors.

However, there is a lot to discover once you get past the blue paint. These are my favorite Jodhpur City images I captured while exploring attractions, wandering small alleys and enjoying rooftop cafes.

My Photography Gear: Wondering what Camera and Photography Gear I take all my photos with while traveling around the world?  Click Here to view my detailed guide about all of the gear I use and recommend for travel photography.

MY FAVORITE PHOTOS FROM JODHPUR CITY

It’s illegal to fly the drone in India at the moment so I only flew it in a few cities but the locals gave me the nod in Jodhpur. This little area was one of te bluest regions in the city. This image not only shows the blue but how every single building utilizes its rooftop similar to Jaisalmer.

A short visit to the lake in the middle of the town and I found this old man feeding the fish.

We wandered into this crazy looking property and found some builders renovating. The owner called to us from the top of the building to come and look inside. He was renovating an old palace into a hotel. We followed him and his son to their rooftop, which had an epic view of Mehrangarh Fort.

If you have read my India content you will know by now that the Jodhpur Stepwell is my favorite spot in the city. Just after this little photo shoot, I was on the roof jumping from 60ft into the water!

On my way to lunch, this young lad pointed at my camera and asked me to take his portrait. It happens so often in India that people want their photo taken. He has that old school Leo Da Vinci look on point.

One of the famous samosa spots in Jodhpur, Shami Samosa.

Another Jodhpur City image, which really shows how blue the city is. This one was taken from Mehrangarh Fort through a small hole, once used as a lookout.

A sunset viewpoint overlooking Mehrangarh Fort. It was just us and these two lads at the top as the sun fizzled out.

Namaste Caffe was our go-to spot for breakfast and with views like this how could it not be!

I went out in search of some street photos and portraits with a blue theme and these are the images I ended up with.

On my final day in Jodhpur City I scaled Mahadev Temple with a tuk-tuk driver. India was full of random adventures!

Paswant Thada is a marble palace sitting on a hill next to a lake, which overlooks the city. I flew there with the drone to check it out!
