El Nido is a small region in the north of the island of Palawan, Philippines. It is most commonly accessed either by ferry from Coron or by van from Puerto Princesa as there is only a tiny airport with minimal flight options. A kayak journey from El Nido to Helicopter Island ended with front row seats to the best show on Earth
El Nido never ceased to amaze me with landscapes that belonged in fantasy movies. I didn’t go one day during my stay without having a moment of disbelief when visiting these remarkable beaches and lagoons.
A 40 minute motorbike journey from El Nido Proper is Nacpan Beach, the perfect location for exploring and adventuring in a diverse array of landscapes. Trees are to be climbed.
During my time in the Philippines a mystery unfolded. Every time I arrived at a new beach a white dog would greet me. I hope it means good luck.
Duli Beach is about an hour out of El Nido Proper and serves up some serious surf. Expect no tourists and an undisturbed afternoon full of relaxing island vibes.
Island hopping is a way of life in El Nido, I dare you to visit and not Island hop.
Just your average lunch on an island. Oh by the way this was prepared on the back of a wooden boat we were while traveling. Props to our crew for being amazing.
Candid scenes from Nacpan Beach. A small village of less than 50 huts are situated right on the beach. The village is home to fisherman and families who we found tending to nets, boats and their children.
Do yourself a favor and enjoy a sunset from the water at Duli Beach. Take my word it will be the best night of your El Nido trip.
This wasn’t tour A,B,C or D it was tour J as Jorden and I cruised around in all directions exploring every island that we stumbled upon.
Verde Safari Beach, a location that we stumbled on by mistake. The best adventures are the ones you don’t plan.
Seven Commandos Beach was the first island stop on Tour A. Believe it or not the tour got better from here on in.
When on a boat with amazing scenery it is mandatory to post on the bow like a boss.
Each beach had something different, something to discover. Two giant monitor lizards watched us eat lunch right on this very island.

A shot from the main street in El Nido Proper. We rented our moped from this family who were extremely nice. The father asked us if we wanted a moped every time we walked past him, which was at least six times a day for 8 days.
There it is. I hope those were enough reasons for you to get out to El Nido and have the time of your life!
